Gary Taylor
Chairman of the Board

Gary Taylor received his Bachelors degree in Marketing from the University of Akron in 1975.  He served as a Graduate Research Assistant in the Marketing Department while earning his MBA from the University in 1977. He has more than 30 years experience in direct marketing, fundraising, advertising, and the teleservice industry. In 1982, working out of his home, he started InfoCision Management Corporation (IMC) as the only employee.

For the first three years, IMC operated as a consulting company that developed outbound telemarketing programs for their clients, utilizing an independent telemarketing contractor. In 1985 InfoCision began making telephone calls internally, starting with just four “Communicators” on the phones. Today InfoCision has grown into the second largest privately held teleservice company in the world, employing more than 4,000 people.

InfoCision raises more money for nonprofit organizations than any other teleservice company. InfoCision is also a leader in providing direct marketing and commercial teleservice applications for some of the largest Fortune 100 companies. InfoCision provides inbound and outbound teleservices, and has the most sophisticated inbound/outbound call-blending solution in the industry. IMC also offers a full array of E-commerce applications.

InfoCision’s hallmark is its unequalled reputation for quality. IMC won the inaugural MVP Quality Award in 1993 and was recognized by Customer Inter@ction Solutions magazine as the highest quality teleservice company in the world.  InfoCision is the only teleservice company to win an MVP Quality Award every year since 1993 and has won the MVP Gold Award for highest quality the last nine consecutive years for a total of 16 MVP Awards.

InfoCision has won numerous awards for quality, fast growth and public service. Under Gary Taylor’s leadership, InfoCision has cracked the top 100 on the Inc. 500 List, recognizing the fastest growing companies in the country. The NorthCoast 99 Award has consistently honored IMC as one of the best places to work in Northeast Ohio. In 2006 and again in 2007, InfoCision was also named one of the 10 best companies in Ohio to work for.

In 2003 Gary Taylor received the Pioneers Lifetime Achievement Award for the positive impact he has had on the teleservice industry. The University of Akron awarded him the prestigious Simonetti Distinguished Business Alumni Award in 2003, and the Alumni Honor Award in 2006, the highest honor awarded to alumni by the University.

In 2005 he received the American Teleservices Association Pioneer Award, and the Direct Marketing Association Teleservice Excellence Award. Also in 2005, Ernst and Young recognized him as an Entrepreneur of the Year award winner for the services industry, and inducted him into the Entrepreneurs’ Hall of Fame. In 2007 Customer Inter@ction Solutions magazine named Gary and Karen Taylor as the man and woman of the year in the teleservice industry.

In the fall of 2004 the University of Akron opened the Gary L. and Karen S. Taylor Institute for Direct Marketing. The Institute has the largest dedicated curriculum, the largest dedicated facility, and the largest staff dedicated to teaching direct marketing at the college level. The Taylor Institute offers the only fully accredited, four-year degree program in direct marketing, and plans to offer an MBA with a concentration in Direct Marketing beginning in the fall of 2008.

The Taylor Institute trains students in direct marketing, an industry that contributes $2 TRILLION a year to the U.S. economy and employs 27 million people. In 2006 the Institute more than tripled in size, guaranteeing that it will remain the most comprehensive undergraduate degree program in direct marketing, for the foreseeable future.

Gary Taylor’s entrepreneurial endeavors are wide ranging. In addition to InfoCision, he is Chairman of the Board and majority stockholder of ST&P Communications. ST&P provides advertising and sales promotion services to an impressive roster of Fortune 500 companies and government agencies.

Gary Taylor is also a principal owner of Granite Golf Properties (GGP). GGP owns and operates Medina Country Club which is the flagship private club. In 2006 GGP opened two new semi-private golf clubs, Shale Creek in Medina County and The Quarry in Canton, Ohio. The business plan calls for the development of several upscale daily-fee, semi-private golf clubs in the Northeast Ohio area, and to expand the network from there.
